As for what type of computer I prefer, I like PCs better because I've been using PCs for many years and that's what I'm used to. But both have their merits, I guess. Macs are great for people who aren't all that computer savvy, seeing as technical problems are fewer and farther between on a Mac than on a PC. If technical problems frighten you, then a Mac is probably what you'd want. The operating system on Macs is generally a bit more beginner friendly than Windows is.

The downside about Macs is that they're a fair bit more expensive than a PC with equally powerful components. There are also programs that don't run on Macs. A fair number of games won't, for example (although they've been getting better in that area the last couple of years). But if you're just using it for digital art, that shouldn't be too much of a problem. Just make sure you can get Mac versions of the programs you prefer to use.

I should also mention that this is solely based off what I've heard about Macs. I've barely ever touched one, and I'm very comfortable with my PC, so I don't plan on touching one either.
